What if you discovered an old apartment covered with forty layers of wallpaper that could be peeled back to reveal the stories of past tenants? Layer the Walls explores the stories of a tenement apartment in New York City that was once home to hundreds of new immigrants. Masks, toy-theatre techniques and puppets bring to life the stories of Irish, Italian and Jewish families.
