Emanu El-Strangers and Neighbors: Important Themes in Black-Jewish Relationships

From a shared history of slavery and discrimination, through the civil rights movement, to the unrest of today, Jews and Blacks have had a relationship that includes cooperation and tension.

Join the Sisterhood as Dr. Joshua Furman, Curator of the Houston Jewish History Archive at Rice University, discusses how an understanding of our history can help us form better relationships with Blacks in our community.

This program is open to the entire congregation and will be held via Zoom. The information to access will be emailed ahead of time to those who register ahead of the program.
