Each year, BYDS plans and hosts at least one major fundraising event that allows the entire community to come together and celebrate the school in a fun and festive atmosphere. This event can take the form of a holiday party where the students join their parents, teachers, and friends for a fun-filled afternoon on the school campus. It may also be a celebratory evening Gala where parents, teachers, and friends of the school take the opportunity to let their hair down and mingle (sans kids) outside of the day-to-day hustle of the traditional school environment. These fundraising efforts often present an occasion for BYDS to acknowledge and honor an individual or group of individuals for their steadfast commitment to the school through the recognition of awards of excellence.
