Barbara Hines is known for combining "impressionist treatment with contemporary style". Her first gallery show was in 2009, at Houston's Meredith Long & Company gallery. The gallery continues to represent her. In 2015 she had a solo show at the Museum of Biblical Art in Dallas. She is a supporter of Jewish causes including the Aishel House in Houston, an Orthodox Jewish organization that works with hospitals, the Holocaust Museum Houston, and organizations devoted to Orthodox Jewish education.
