Jewish Professionals Learning Series

Jewish Professionals Learning Series brings together all professionals from Jewish organizations serving Houston’s Jewish community, for an opportunity to connect, learn, enhance professional skills, and collectively serve our Jewish community. The series is a response to what we learned from the 2022-23 Hineni Houston listening journey. We now know that those who have dedicated their careers to the Jewish community are seeking additional leadership and professional growth opportunities and the opportunity to network with their fellow Jewish communal professionals.

The Professionals Learning Series will meet quarterly. Each session will feature a speaker and a chance to network. Save the dates for the 2025-2026 year!

Our second session of the new programming year titled, Courageous Conversations About Israel: A Toolkit for Jewish Professionals will be October 29, 12:00-1:30 PM. Location provided upon registration

As visible members of the Jewish community, professionals working at Jewish organizations often become the go-to person for hard questions about Israel—sometimes without warning. Join Yoni Buckman, Senior Educator at Unpacked, for this practical workshop addressing the challenges many Jewish communal professionals face: How do we talk about Israel in our spaces and social lives? How do we sort through overwhelming information? How do we engage with and support Israel when it’s incredibly difficult? Learn strategies for navigating complex conversations, sorting fact from misinformation, providing education and resources, and engaging authentically with Israel from a place of empathy, knowledge, and confidence during challenging times.
