Rabbi Jonathan Sacks (z”l”) wrote:
“To defend a country, physically, you need an army, but to defend a civilization, you need education, you need educators, and you need schools. If we do that, we will ensure that our children and theirs will continue to keep the Jewish spirit alive and the Menorah of Jewish values burning throughout the centuries in an everlasting light”.
This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Yom Limmud, Day of Learning. Thanks to the insights of Shirley Barish (z”l”) and Elaine Kellerman, Yom Limmud has been a gathering place for Jewish learning as well as a space for discovery, inspiration, creativity, and fun for our entire Jewish community.
Whether this will be your first Yom Limmud experience or your 30th, this is not a day to miss! Mark your calendars for Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Congregation Emanu El.
We hope you will join us for a unique opportunity to explore diverse and comprehensive Jewish topics like antisemitism, Israel, Mitzvot & Jewish texts, Pedagogy, meditation & mindfulness, arts, Jewish life, food & wine; and stories around personal journeys.
