Author of her memoir, The Color of Love: A Story of a Mixed-Race Jewish Girl, Marra B. Gad will be our guest for the upcoming Wolff-Toomim Distinguished Lecture Series. We are excited to bring Ms. Gad to Congregation Beth Israel and our community to discuss the issues of inclusion and the themes of racial justice. Gad’s biological mother was white and Jewish, and her biological father was African-American. She writes about growing up with her adoptive Ashkenazi, white Jewish family in Chicago. The book also details her struggles with coming to terms with a racist great aunt living with Alzheimer’s.
All are welcome to be part of this important conversation moderated by Rabbi David Lyon. No cost to attend and special reception and book signing to follow in
Wolff-Toomim Hall.
