Plan to join ADL's Women's Initiative on February 8th at 7:00 pm for a delightful reception, private performance, and post-show conversation with the artistic director. ADL is excited to partner with the Ensemble Theatre for this unique event. We extend a special thank you to Sherry Bender Levy and Joel Bender for sponsoring this event in loving memory of their mother Sophia Wertheimer Bender. Inspired by Victor Hugo Green's historical The Negro Motorist Green Book, the setting takes place during a weekend when the Davis' are celebrating the arrival of Dr. W.E.B. DuBois for a lecture. The appearance of a white visitor, who turns out to be a Jewish Holocaust survivor, sets off a chain of events that shows that racism and anti-Semitism cannot be ignored. This play is an investigation of the impact of Civil Rights on contemporary American issues explored through different cultures.
