Parking

Parking at Congregation Emanu El will be limited to vehicles with handicap permits, presenters, exhibitors and vendors.
 
We have arranged for shuttle buses to take Yom Limmud participants from a satellite parking lot at Rice University Stadium to Congregation Emanu El. The satellite parking lot is located on Greenbriar Dr. between University Blvd. and Rice Blvd. Vehicles shoudl enter on Greenbriar.
 
The buses will run continuously throughout the day from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. to shuttle Yom Limmud participants between the two locations. Please allow 15 minutes to park and take the bus to Emanu El.

Each year, Yom Limmud provides a unique opportunity for Jews from all denominations and walks of life to gather together in one place at one time to learn, exchange ideas, share experiences, and perform mitzvot. Scores of seminars, featuring presentations by rabbis, cantors, Jewish educators, college professors, cultural arts specialists, and other experts will be conducted throughout the day. The event also features special programming for children and teachers.

Shabbat Limmud

For the fifth consecutive year, the BJE is providing grants to 5 Houston congregations to host scholars for Shabbat Limmud, a unique Shabbat learning opportunity held the weekend of February 15 and 16, 2008, preceding Yom Limmud. The five Shabbat Limmud scholars will speak at their host congregations during Shabbat and each will make an additional presentation at Yom Limmud on Sunday. For a listing of the 2008 Shabbat Limmud scholars and their host congregations, click here.

Complete Schedule

Concert

Yom Limmud will conclude with an exciting concert by the popular Israeli group Reva L'Sheva. The six Israelis and Americans that make up Reva L'Sheva (the name means "quarter to seven") fuse 70's rock n' roll with blues, country, Jewish spiritual melodies, Grateful Dead, African beat, and other ethnic influences. Reva L'Sheva has received wide acclaim from audiences all over the world!
 
The concert is free and open to the public!
