Community Relations Committee

Creating a community that is informed and empowered to make a difference.

Social action, whether taken by one individual, or an entire group of people, is one of the most important ways that we, as Jews, can make a difference in the lives of others-Jews and non-Jews alike-in their times of need. There are a wide variety of ways you can become informed about and play an active role in addressing the issues that are important to the Jewish community-both locally and globally:

Staying informed about current events
Knowing the facts about the situation in the Middle East
Working with other community groups
Monitoring the media's coverage of current events
Contacting public officials

Community Relations Committee.

The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston's Community Relations Committee (CRC) is the social action arm of the Federation and plays a significant role throughout the community in helping to create strategic alliances between community groups with common goals; reaching out to the media, public officials, and policy-makers in order to ensure they have a clear understanding of the issues important to the Jewish community; keeping the community informed about issues that are pertinent to us as Houstonians, as Americans, and as Jews; and working diligently to provide a voice for those who have no voice with which to be heard.
