Social action, whether taken by one individual, or an entire group of people, is one of the most important ways that we, as Jews, can make a difference in the lives of others-Jews and non-Jews alike-in their times of need. There are a wide variety of ways you can become informed about and play an active role in addressing the issues that are important to the Jewish community-both locally and globally:
Community Relations Committee.
The Jewish Federation of Greater Houston's Community Relations Committee (CRC) is the social action arm of the Federation and plays a significant role throughout the community in helping to create strategic alliances between community groups with common goals; reaching out to the media, public officials, and policy-makers in order to ensure they have a clear understanding of the issues important to the Jewish community; keeping the community informed about issues that are pertinent to us as Houstonians, as Americans, and as Jews; and working diligently to provide a voice for those who have no voice with which to be heard.
