This reform congregation is the oldest congregation in Texas, established in 1854.  Membership is approximately 2000 families.  Beth Israel has activities for all age groups and religious services on Friday nights.  The Shlenker School, a Reform Jewish Day School, which offers programs from child's day out through the 5th grade, is part of Congregation Beth Israel.
