American Friends of Magen David Adom – ARMDI is the authorized, tax-exempt fundraising organization in the United States supporting the lifesaving efforts of MDA in Israel and representing Magen David Adom in the US. Although it receives no government budgeted funding, Magen David Adom (MDA) and its team of trained volunteer and professional medical responders are mandated by the Knesset to provide the entire nation’s pre-hospital emergency medical needs, including disaster, ambulance and blood services. MDA, a member of the International Committee of the Red Cross, has over 100 Emergency Medical Stations and 11 dispatch stations throughout Israel. Thanks to AFMDA/ARMDI supporters, more than 800 MDA ambulances and Mobile Intensive Care Units are on call 24/7, logging nearly one million miles and taking care of close to 550,000 patients annually.
